The letters in this file pertain to the vacancy in the office of Probate Judge for Greenwood County. The first letter is from a citizen of Kansas recommending to Kansas Governor St. John a person to fill said position. A separate letter from J. R. Phenis informs the Governor that he will likely be called upon to appoint a new Probate Judge for Greenwood County, as the current holder is suffering from a stroke, he also recommends himself for the appointment.
