These two documents addressed to Kansas Governor St. John relate to the appointment of Commissioner of Deeds for the State of Kansas in Kentucky. The first letter from W. L. Jackson from the Judicial District of Kentucky recommends a specific person for this position. While the other letter is an application from a different person explaining their reasons for being appointed Commissioner of Deeds.
