This file includes a letter from Fletcher Meredith asking Kansas Governor St. John to postpone making Hutchinson, Kansas a city of the second class until after the April election. In addition, there is a letter from J. W. Kanaga requesting to Governor St. John to give them time to present any objections for making Hutchinson, Kansas a city of the second class, he also notes concerns of a scheme to carry the town for the licensing of saloons. Included is a petition protesting against making Hutchinson a city of the second class.
