These letters are from or about the Kansas Commissioner of Deeds to Kansas Governor G. W. Glick. The various letters cover topics including endorsing individuals for the commissioner position and requesting the commissioner for notaries, administering oaths, and authenticating documents especially on Native American territories. Presently, in Kansas, individual counties have a Register of Deeds office rather than a Kansas Commissioner of Deeds.
