This letter, dated March 22nd, 1884, is from G. W. Brown, founder of the newspaper Herald of Freedom and oil man, to Kansas Governor G. W. Glick. He wrote to Glick and the legislature with concern of their "neglect in providing for" Kansas territory claims. G. W. Brown became Kansas' most visible and controversial journalists. By 1884, Brown was no longer a Kansas resident, but he remained an author on the history of territorial Kansas.
