This photograph represents the Johnson bedroom at the Shawnee Indian Mission in Fairway, Kansas after reconstruction in 1942. Shown in the photograph is a maple, cherry and walnut bedframe with mattress and linens dated between 1835 and 1850. The chest is constructed of walnut. Rugs portrayed in the photograph is reproductions of what may have been present while the room was occupied. In 1968, the Shawnee Indian Mission was declared a National Historic Landmark and has since been under the operation of the Kansas Historical Society.
