A letter from the Board of the County Commissioners of Saline County encloses an order that pertains to the relief of the United States Government. A copy of a telegram on March 2, 1875, accepting Mr. Allen as an Agent to distribute relief goods. A letter from M. L. Blackwelder of Haddam, Kansas on March 3, 1875, concerning the destitute citizens in his section and asks for some aid. A copy of a telegram from General John Pope states the relief goods for Clay County have been shipped and are ready as soon as parties arrive for them. A letter on March 9, 1875, asks Governor Harvey what has been done for the unorganized County of Graham and what steps should be taken to get seed for Spring planting. The following documents in this file pertain to similar and other matters concerning relief in the State of Kansas.
