A letter from R. R. Beiss on May 19, 1874, resigns as Justice of the Peace for Centropolis Township, Franklin County, Kansas. A petition from citizens of Centropolis Township requests the appointment of Justice of the Peace is given to J. C. Roughes. A letter on July 20, 1874, from P. C. Hughes, informs W. H. Smallwood, Secretary of the State of Kansas, that there is a vacancy in the Office of Justice of the Peace in Eureka township. A petition from Officials of Harvey County requests that H. L. Langan fill the vacancy as Justice of the Peace of Newton township. The following documents in the file also concern the appointment of Justice of the Peace for Ford, Lyon, and surrounding counties in Kansas.
