Lawrence, a Justice of the Supreme Court in New York, recommends Thomas B. Clifford for the position of Commissioner of Deeds. A letter on March 31, 1873, from M. Curtis, Judge of the Marine Court of New York, recommends S. B. Goodale, a Notary Public, and Real Estate Agent, for the appointment. A letter on December 8, 1874, from C. W. Johnson, requests a renewal of his position as Commissioner of Deeds for the State of Kansas.
