The documents in this file relate to matters concerning Judge of the 9th Judicial District, for example, resignations and appointments. A resignation letter on October 17, 1875, from William R. Brown as Court Commencer of Barton County. A letter on January 4, 1874, from H. C. McComas, states he is aware that T. C. Cutler of Newton Harvey County applied for the Office of Judge and recommends Cutler for the position. A petition from attorneys, ask that Joshua Clayton of Great Bend, Kansas receive the appointment as Judge of the 9th Judicial District. A letter on December 12, 1874, C. S. Bowman, advises against the appointment of C. C. Nichols as Judge and recommends J. W. Ady for the position.
