The following documents pertain to the appointment of Judge of the Eighth Judicial District. A letter on February 26, 1874, from members of Dickenson County Bar, recommend James H. Austin of Junction City as a suitable person to fill the vacancy of Judge of the 8th Judicial District. A letter on February 27, 1874, from the Sheriff and Clerk of Ottawa County, recommend Bishop Perkins for Judge of the 8th Judicial District. A telegraph on February 28, 1874, from members of the House of Representatives of Kansas, recommends James Humphrey as the Judge of the 8th District.
