The following documents pertain to the appointment of Judge of the 7th Judicial District. A petition on November 11, 1874, from attorneys of Woodson County, request the appointment of R. N. Baylis as Judge of their District. Additional letters and petitions are from supporters of R. N. Baylis as Judge of the 7th Judicial District. A letter on October 26, 1874, from J. Benford, recommends the appointment of W. J. Banden to the office of Judge of the 7th District Court. A letter of application on October 26, 1874, from W. J. Banden for the position of Judge of the 6th Judicial District. Further letters are from individuals recommending specific candidates for the role of Judge of the 7th Judicial District.
