A letter on January 21, 1875, from A. Lowe, requests Kansas Governor Osborn keep Dr. W. B. Carpenter as the Penitentiary Physician. In the letter, Lowe states that Carpenter has brought general satisfaction and saved the state a large amount of money in terms of medication. A letter from C. Reasoner on February 10, 1875, writes to endorse and recommend Dr. W. B. Carpenter to keep his position.
