A letter from Daniel Grass, September 1, 1875, requests the Governor withdrawal Reverend S. Holman for the position as Chaplain of the Penitentiary. A letter from L. L. Hartman of Chanute, Kansas, asks the Governor for a letter of recommendation for the office of Register of Land.
