A report from the Board of County Commissioners, certify that Wade H. Pritchard, County Surveyor of Labette County, Kansas died on November 26, 1877, creating a vacancy in the office of Surveyor. In the report by the Board of County Commissioners, they recommend George Thornton as the successor. A letter of resignation from H. A. Parmelee as County Surveyor on November 12, 1878. A letter on January 25, 1877, from Carry Oaks regarding the abolishment of the Fiscal Agency of New York. A letter on January 31, 1877, in relation to a comprise contract between County Commissioners and the holders of the County Railroad Bonds. A petition for the appointment of Jonathan Harris as Sheriff of Marion County. A letter on August 9, 1877, from H. D. Morgan, requests a copy of the petitions from Marion County asking for the appointments of Howe and Harris as Sheriff. The following documents pertain to similar matters of resignation, appointments, and concerns relating to counties in and around Labette and Montgomery, Kansas.
