A letter on September 12, 1878, from P. J. Bonebrake, Kansas State Auditor, informs Governor Anthony of the sale of State school lands from the Treasurer of Montgomery County Kansas to R. D. Burns for the amount of $480.00 and provides a report of the payments made by Burns. The following two letters from P. J. Bonebrake are regarding the Salt Spring Lands located in Salt Springs. A letter on November 5, 1877, from H. L. Taylor, informs Governor Anthony an insect has appeared in the wheat in Wichita and Sumner County. In the letter Taylor describes the insect and reports that several fields are destroyed.
