These six scrapers were collected from House 1 at the Markley site, a Smoky Hill Phase occupation site containing two or more houses. The collection was donated to the Kansas Historical Society in 1971. The scrapers would have likely been hafted on a handle and used to scrape hides. The tools would have required periodic resharpening.
