The following documents concern matters regarding Native Americans in Kansas. Many of the letters to Kansas Governor Harvey report on Native American attacks. A report on May 5, 1870, from Major Tilford, states recent Native Americans have been seen in Asherville, Kansas. The following correspondence discusses reports on Native American affairs and activity, and includes requests to send troops to the frontier to apprehend Native American trouble.
