A letter from Prov. Governor Edward J. Davis of Texas informs Kansas Governor Harvey he has received documents for the arrest of James Anderson charged with murder. Governor Davis advises once Anderson is found, they will arrest and hold him in custody until an agent of Kansas can take responsibility for him. A letter dated August 3, 1870, from Mrs. Ailey Allen requests Governor Harvey offer a reward for the arrest of James Preston for the murder of her husband. Additional letters concern rewards for the capture of specific criminals charged with murder in counties in Kansas.
