A letter from Alex R. Banks encloses copies of a resolution adopted by the House of Representatives calling for information about the recent troubles in Butler County, and the steps taken by Governor Harvey for their control, on February 1, 1871. A copy dated January 15, 1869, of the Senate Resolution relating to the sale of 125,000 acres of land donated to the Northern Kansas Railroad Company. A letter from Kansas Secretary of State, C. Crowther, informs Governor Harvey that certain individuals recommended by him were confirmed for particular positions by the Senate. Additional documents pertain to various matters of the legislature in the State of Kansas.
