A letter of resignation from Silas S. Penwell as Justice of the Peace for Washington township in Washington County. In the resignation letter, Penwell recommends A. S. Markam as a fit person to be his successor. A petition from citizens of Clifton township in Washington County request Minard Morgan as Justice of the Peace. A letter informs Kansas Governor Harvey that Center township in Wilson County only has one Justice of Peace and requests S. W. Burke be appointed as a fit person for the office. The following documents in this file are letters or petitions requesting Governor Harvey appoint specific individuals as Justice of the Peace of their township in either Washington or Wilson Counties.
