A petition on April 10, 1872, requests Thomas Keown as Justice of Peace for Cloud County. A separate letter and petition ask that Kansas Governor Harvey appoint John U. Hodgson as Justice of Peace of Cloud County. A petition from citizens of Cherokee County asks that A. D. Wilson for the appointment as Justice of Peace. Further documents are letters or petitions from citizens providing the Governor with their suggestion of a suitable person to fill the vacancy of Justice of Peace in their county.
