These two letters, dated January 20 and October 17, 1868, are from James B. Sevain and A. Dauford regarding politics to Kansas Governor Samuel Crawford. Sevain wrote about and enclosed a campaign paper called "The Battlefield" with the request of the governor's endorsement. Dauford wrote about and enclosed the resolutions of the Grant and Colfax Republican Club with the request of not removing troops until after the election.
