These two letters, dated April 16, 1868 and July 30, 1868, are from Levi Hatch, probate judge, and D. W. Crouse, chair of the Crawford County Kansas Board of Commissioners, to Kansas Governor Samuel Crawford regarding the county's affairs. Hatch wrote resigning as probate judge due to health and recommending D. S. McIntosh as his successor. Crouse wrote requesting a copy of the appointment of a county seat and commissioner. Crawford County was organized in 1867.
