This letter, dated October 2, 1867, is from A. H. Morshead, county clerk, regarding Butler County Kansas affairs to Kansas Governor Samuel Crawford. Morshead wrote about the Board of Commissioners' appointment of A. Petro as sheriff to fill the vacancy. Butler County was organized in 1859.
