This contracting stem dart point was collected from a multicomponent (multiple occupations) archeological site in Johnson County and donated to the Kansas Historical Society in 2005. The site had occupations in the both Archaic and Historic periods. Dart points, from the Archaic period, were attached to the fore shaft of a throwing spear and propelled by using a spear thrower or atlatl.
