Shown here are United States Regulation Letters and Numbers, two musician's insignia, and the Arms of the United States insignia, recovered from excavations in 1966 at Fort Hays in Ellis County. Additionally, a small brass hand and wrist, designation unknown, is also included. All of these insignia, a badge-like distinguishing mark of military rank or office, are made of brass.
