This writ of habeus corpus for Joel K. Deardorf was issued by Judge Sterling G. Cato for the Second District Court in Lecompton, Kansas Territory. The writ is addressed to Patrick Conner and states Conner has detained Deardorf for an unknown crime. Deardorf was arrested by U. S. Marshal I. B. Donalson and Deputy W. P. Fain on February 14, 1857.
