These court documents relate to the case of the Kansas Territory vs. John Cushion for the murder of William Norton on December 9, 1856 in Tecumseh, Kansas Territory. Cushion was accused of stabbing Norton with a knife, resulting in Norton's death on December 11, 1856. Cushion was indicted for second degree murder on December 18, 1856 by the Second District Court in Tecumseh.
