This bench warrant for John Clary was issued by Douglas County Justice of the Peace R. C. Bishop on July 26, 1856. The warrant states Clary failed to answer a summons to testify as a witness for the Kansas Territory in the case against Charles F. Day. The warrant instructs Deputy Sheriff William P. Fain to bring Clary before Bishop at his office in Lecompton.
