This judicial writ was issued for John Carroll by the Second District Court of the Kansas Territory. The writ states Carroll was summoned to serve as a juror in Lecompton on May 4, 1857 but failed to appear. Carroll is ordered to appear before the court and explain why a final judgement should not be made against him.
