These three legal writs relate to the case of The United States vs. George Burwick for contempt. Burwick was summoned to serve as a juror on October 5, 1857 for the U. S. District Court for the Kansas Territory, Second District, in Lecompton but failed to attend court. These writs of scire facias order Burwick to appear before the court and explain why a final judgement should not be made.
