This arrest warrant for John Brown, Nelson King, and Cline (first name unknown) was issued on October 6, 1856 by Justice of the Peace W. H. Lebow in Lykins County (present-day Miami County), Kansas Territory. The warrant accuses Brown, Cline, and King of stealing two horses from Martin White. Brown had led abolitionist forces in several Bleeding Kansas conflicts in the months leading up to the warrant, such as the Battle of Osawatomie in August and the siege of Lawrence in September.
