These legal documents relate to the case of the United States vs. A. E. Blythe and Dr. J. Taylor for grand larceny. Blythe and Taylor were accused of stealing a horse from Lewis Moggrie, a member of the Osage tribe, on July 20, 1858 in the Cherokee Neutral Lands, located in the southeast corner of the Kansas Territory. The documents include an affidavit from Marcus De Lafayette Shamblin, testifying to the defendants' guilt.
