These legal documents include a bond, court bill, and affidavits related to the case of the Kansas Territory vs. Harman Bird for maliciously killing a horse near Tecumseh, Kansas Territory in 1855. James R. Warren accused Bird of shooting his horse on the property of the Moffet (Moffat) family. Bird was arrested on January 16, 1856 and released on bond on January 23, 1856. The affidavits were sworn before the U. S. District Court of Kansas, Second District by Charles Moffet, William Moffet, Isaac Renfro, and Erastus Moffet.
