This photograph shows the original site of the Norman number 1 oil well with a reproduction of the wooden derrick and other structures in Neodesha, Wilson County, Kansas. The Norman No. 1 was the first well drilled in the Mid-Continent Field. Later the derrick was moved several blocks north to the historical museum on Main Street.
