This rim sherd was recovered from 14SA403, a Smoky Hill aspect small village site in Saline County that was occupied during the Middle Ceramic period. It was donated to the Kansas Historical Society in 2017. The rim sherd has grit and sand temper, which was added to the clay to help form, dry and fire the pottery. The collared rim is decorated with a series of opposed diagonals.
