These three fragments of trigger guards were recovered from the surface of the Canville Trading Post and donated to the Kansas Historical Society in 1994. The Canville Trading Post was located near the Osage Reservation in Neosho County. All three guard are made of brass and the largest is complete enough to tell us that it is a double trigger guard.
