This loom woven beaded band was donated to the Kansas Historical Society in 1977 and is believed to have been Potawatomi in origin. The pink, black, blue, green and red beads are used to form an alternating floral and swastika pattern. The swastika is a symbol that has been used in America and elsewhere since prehistoric times.
