This General Service button was recovered from the surface of a site in Johnson County on what was then the Shawnee Reserve. The three piece copper button features a left facing eagle with a lined shield and a back stamp that reads "EXTRA QUALITY." This button model was used from 1855 to the end of the century. It is unclear whether the site was a Shawnee farmstead or the Chouteau trading house for the Shawnee.
