Fred "Fritz" Palenske was the son of Louis and Emma Thoes Palenske, and was born at Alma, Kansas. As an adult, he would form Industrial Rubber Goods Company, manufacturing rubber and foam weather-stripping. He married Maude Preston. Upon his retirement, Palenske provided the funds to purchase and create the Wabaunsee County Historical Society Museum in Alma. Funded by the National Historical Publications and Records Commission through the Kansas State Historical Records Advisory Board.
