A crowd of observers witnesses the meeting of Chief Two Gun White Calf and Haskell Institute Superintendent Hervey B. Peairs. Louis Palenske photographed the event with a Korona Panoramic View Camera, using seventeen-inch film. Chief Two Gun White Calf has long been believed to have been the model for the relief sculpture of the Chief on the "buffalo nickel." The event, "All Indian Trails Lead to Lawrence" was a four-day event beginning on October 27th and ending on October 30th, 1926, and it included the dedication of the new football stadium at the Institute. Thousands of Native Americans from across the nation attended the event. Funded by the National Historical Publications and Records Commission through the Kansas State Historical Records Advisory Board.
