This cabinet card photo shows Emma Thoes Palenske and her sister-in-law Minnie Thoes seated at a photographer's backdrop with Minnie combing Emma's hair. Minnie's mustache and goatee were drawn on the surface of the photograph after it was printed. Funded by the National Historical Publications and Records Commission through the Kansas State Historical Records Advisory Board.
