This photograph shows a group of people waiting for a steam locomotive to arrive at the Colorado, Kansas, & Oklahoma Railroad Company depot in Russell Springs, Kansas. The rail line ran between Garden City, Kansas and Winona, Kansas. In 1917 financial difficulties forced the rail line to cease operation. The tracks were later removed and used for World War I efforts.
