These three cores were just a few of those found eroding from a bluff at the Nuttycomb 2-1 site in Norton County in 2002. A core is a stone from which flakes, used in tool making, are removed. The parent material for all three cores is Smoky Hill silicified chalk, which outcrops nearby.
