This hoe was recovered from excavations in 2012 at Fool Chief's village, a large Kansas village site in Shawnee County. The hoe was recovered in a cache pit, used for storage, inside House 272. The hoe was cleaned by electrolysis which passes an electrical current through a liquid solution to separate the rust from the artifact.
