Majolica cream pitcher. Low relief stag on one side and stag with doe on other side. Originally belonged to Francis Luvinia Foster (1850-1889) about the time of her marriage to James Hastings Wallace (1837-1913) in 1875. The family lived in Mission Creek, Nebraska. When the family moved from there to Sterling, Kansas, their daughter Ora Ross Wallace (1878-1960) carried the pitcher on her lap in the wagon to protect it.
