Crazy quilt with green velvet border. Green velvet sashing also used to form two diamond shapes that span the quilt. The sashing is embroidered with the initials "A.A.S." and "S.M.S." and the date "1/13/1875." Clara L. Strieby (1832-1819) made this quilt as a wedding gift for her brother, Samuel M. Strieby (1841-1914), and his bride, Agnes Alexander Stevenson (1852-1923). The two were married in Council Grove, Kansas, on January 13, 1875.
