Iron shoe last mounted on tall cylindrical stand. This shoe last was used at Einstein's Outdoor Outfitters in Topeka, Kansas. The original owner, Nathan Einstein (1885-1946), was a Jewish immigrant who came to the United States in 1906 and later moved to Topeka. According to his descedants, Einstein purchased this used shoe last in the 1920s and used it to repair the shoes of Santa Fe Railroad workers and soldiers at Forbes Air Force Base.
