Cotton sack for 24 pounds of White Star Corn Meal from the Hillsboro Roller Mills of Hillsboro, Kansas. Bag manufactured by the Bemis Company in Kansas City, Missouri. The Hillsboro Roller Mill was built in 1892 by Bartel Ebel (1851-1926). The business was owned and operated by various members of the Ebel family until 1937. At that point the mill works were sold to other area mills, although the family continued to operate what was known as the Ebel Brothers Elevator until 1966.
